I may be out of touch for a while. I'm headed off on different adventures for the next 7 weekends. If you need me, you'll find me in:
Bear Lake
Star Valley
Palm Springs/Vegas
Lake Powell
Chicago
Indian Creek
I promise to take pictures.
And then August 20th will almost be here.

It's true.

I know it's true.
Because i've read it for myself.
(Yes, I know i'm 21 and i've had this book since I was 8. I'm not a reader. And it may have taken me a year and a half, but finally I got in the habit of reading it. And i know it's true.)
Side story: I want to marry a returned missionary who has read the book of mormon and knows it is true for himself. How could I expect my husband be that that if I hadn't even read all the way through myself? Well, now that I have, i think i'm ready to find my husband.
h.a.i.r
i wish that for a moment i could see myself as others do. what do i look like? i've always wondered.
i know nothing about physical beauty/cosmetics. i don't know how to shape my eyebrows. i can't ever get my hair to hold a curl. i never take off my mascara. i don't know if my face is dry or oily. i have no clue what makeup to buy. the list goes on.
i've faced this fact my whole life. i'm mostly okay with it. because there are days i do feel beautiful.
well i decided i needed a change. i've cut my hair off multiple times, and i just don't look good with short hair. so that's no longer an option. i decided on coloring my hair. it was a first. and i still don't know what to think. people say they like it, but i never really know if they're telling the truth.
a lesson learned: the part should be just above the eye. and it doesn't have to go straight back. it can curve in a little toward the middle of your head

Quote of the day. Or maybe week.
"Learn to like what doesn't cost much. Learn to like reading, conversation, music. Learn to like plain food, plain service, plain cooking. Learn to like fields, trees, brooks, hiking, rowing, climbing hills. Learn to like people, even though some of them may be different...different from you. Learn to like to work and enjoy the satisfaction of doing your job as well as it can be done. Learn to like the songs of birds, the companionship of dogs. Learn to like gardening, puttering around the house, and fixing things. Learn to like the sunrise and sunset, the beating of rain on the roof and windows, and the gentle fall of snow on a winter day. Learn to keep your wants simple, and refuse to be controlled by the likes and dislikes of others."

Take a hike or 2 or 3 - taken 4 small ones but i'd like to do more than just ensign peak and the living room. i want to hike in one of the cottonwoods.
Be tan - successful thus far
Become best friends with Ty - making progress
Golf - check
Buy a plane ticket to Chicago - done. July 21. yay.
Take pictures - this was getting accomplished until i broke my camera. A new one has recently been purchased.

today is a good day
i am happy
for a lot of reasons

(it seems like i frequently blog when i'm in a bad mood, but really, i am in a positive mood 98 percent of the time. I just wanted to let the blogging world know that.)
