I've been thinking about this. Because lately I've been struggling here. I'm not talking about physics scales, or my weight. I'm talking about life. Balancing all aspects of life. It's hard. And has much to do with prioritizing.
Consider a balance like the one pictured above. Except with many hanging bowls. One bowl for each part of life, each thing I spend time on. This semester, the "
school bowl" has been basically empty. Yikes. And it's going to be reflected in my grades that's for sure. The "
church bowl" is doing alright. It could use a little more scripture and prayer time, but it always could use more of that. There's something wrong with the "
social bowl." It has not had any girlfriends in it lately. And there's something else wrong with it, but to be honest, I'm not sure what it is. The "
health bowl" is lacking. I need to find time to exercise, as well as eat healthier, and sleep more. The "
work bowl" is doing great. The "
miscellaneous bowl" has been too full of wasting time. Wasting time on the internet, looking in the mirror, etc. Although there are many other bowls in here, these are the ones I've been contemplating.
So, in conclusion, here's the improvement plan:
IN THE NEXT 3 WEEKS (TILL SUMMER):
- Focus on school and make it a priority.
- Eat healthier (And by 'healthier' I mean eat less sweets).
- Do some form of exercise in my room at least every other day for at least 4 minutes.
- Don't waste nearly as much time on facebook or blogs. Because what comes from that? Nothing.
IN THE SUMMERTIME:
- Spend more time with girls.
- Exercise frequently.
- Sleep 8 hours/night.
- Instead of wasting time on the computer, pick up a paintbrush or scrapbook.
I most likely will fail at doing some of these, but hopefully I'll improve in at least one aspect. That's the goal. Wish me luck.
